New Jersey's Finest: 20 Years of The Bouncing Souls

With their 20th anniversary just behind them, The Bouncing Souls, will be heading down to The Fest to play a birthday show that is guaranteed to please geriatric punk fans like myself (I am 45 years old). They recognize that, often emploring the crowd to take it easy on the old guys in the mosh pit... Hey we might break a hip.For their set, the band is promising to only play songs from 1995 and earlier, which means songs from Maniacal Laughter and The Good, the Bad, and the Argyle. These guys kick it old school, east coast. I caught on to these guys with "Tie One On", their 1998 release. So I was a little late to the party, but what a fun party it has been. For a good taste of this great live band, check out their live cd from 2005, named, simply enough "Bouncing Souls Live". These guys are everthing I love about punk.Driving beats, screaming guitars, attitude and energy have defined these guys for 20 years now.
