So far here are my impressions. The Cardinals came out looking overwhelmed. They seem to have found their footing. The fat guy from Pittsburgh had a great interception and 100 yard runback. He sure did enjoy his oxygen afterward. He is a hero to me. I like fat guy runbacks. The 3D commercials were kind of lame. I had the glasses, and was 7 feet from a 52" plasma, and it didn't look that great to me. Then Bruce showed up to save the day. Doing a nice set from his 30 year career, he is a little older, heavier and slower, but still rocks the house. I would have liked to just finish the evening with Bruce and the E Street Band, and then watch the rest of the game at a later date. Bruce still rocks!

Yeah Baby! Looks like UofL is finally playing up to their potential. After going down by 10 early, the Cards fought their way back into the game. After that it was nip and tuck, with the Cards coming out victorious in the end. Needless to say, things are happy here in Derby Town right now!

In a very exciting matchup, the University of Louisville Cardinals have defeated the Kentucky Wildcats. We beat them in both Men's and Women's NCAA action this year, so take that, Wildcats!

The new tradition in the NHL, the outdoor game, has come to Chicago. For we legions of pond hockey enthusiasts, this represents the ultimate dream... an NHL game on an outdoor frozen "pond". Last year in Buffalo, the weather was blizzard-like and ice was like a frozen river, with ridges, ruts and the like. This year in Chicago, the sun is shining down and the action is fast for outdoor hockey. What better way to spend a winter day than outdoors at the hockey rink. I remember skating outdoors at Portage Park, Park Ridge, Mt. Prospect and anywhere else the park district would freeze a patch of ice. I have also spent my share of time on frozen ponds in lakes of my youth. I always hated when the puck got lost in the snow...Great game!

I am a Cyclist and I am Angry

Another week, another motorist-strikes-cyclist fatality. It is a travesty that there is such a nonchalant attitude of "oh well, just an accident". If a driver's negligence killed a motorist instead of a cyclist, there would be charges filed, and outrage. Not so with cyclist fatalities. The last two were both killed by drivers breaking the law, passing on the wrong side of the road, drunken driving, etc.
MURDER in my humble opinion. Until we start sharing the road, these tragedies will continue. I have ridden all over this fair city of Louisville, and for the most part, drivers are civilized road partners. I won't mention the 2nd Street Bridge, which scares the living hell out of me, but otherwise, I feel pretty safe around here.
What I do not like is the cavalier attitude of the police and media about cycle-car accidents. As we make strides to be more cycle-friendly, these attitudes must change. Any driver who strikes a cyclist and breaks the law should be prosectuted to the full extent of the law. We owe it to the victims.

Random thought-age: Cool guy beats nerd-geek. Earth Wind & Fire, song inspiring. That's the way, of the world..... A true man, defined as one male not wearing a white starched Oxford donning gray tie and red sweater vest, can still count on that one ounce of prevention in a Trojan, to prevent another pound of Buckeye. Pray tell: Why does 'Gym Tressel' dress like a midtown CPA? Surely to got, he must realize that when the Village People reunite, they'll ask for their uniform back as they manwhoremoaniously sing: 'YMCPA'. For all his program's bucks paid out, and the dotted eyes - amist - and the for-real tease........Ohio Shate simply - Sucks. And when, for Pete's sake, will USC quit Carrolling and begin paying pennance for past transgressions following (wishful-thinking) microscopic NCAA investigation? You'll find me at mass tomorrow praying for forgivness. And praying for the multiple UofK high-ankle-sprains to heal before the SEC opens up - like the Buckeye's collective sphinter did today. File under WT: ......Auburn hires offensive coordinator, and CYA Author, Tony Franklin, formerly Highly-Offenisve coordinator under "Hal 'Cheatin' MoFo' Mumme", who put up GI-Normicious numbers for the Univeristy of KENTUCKY - back in their 'hey' day........yet, the Plainsmen get tres ....and bequeath old Mississippi State .. dos?WTF? & BTW: The missing letter to that mathematical equation three/two, is summed up in one letter/word = 'D'. I'm a big fan of Sylvester Croom. We all should be. Darn it, America should be. After coach Brooks bolts, I'd love to have him in Lexington; although I know his heart is only there temporarily. Great Coach, better human.Yeah, he belongs in Tuscaloosa. I have alot of respect for Alabama from the perspective of bringing home their own. Saban may do something for 'em; but he's not an Alabama grad (is that an oxymoron?).Hey, Alabama brought the Bear out of the wood (KENTUCKY) - and to the back wood along the banks of the Black Warrior River, home to rule the roost and all men's man caveage. Saban is a job whore - Vegas- like- akin to Bobby Petrino. Whereas, Croom is loyal. There is alot to be said about homeboyage and voyage. The ship sooner or later sails home. Ciao main. topher_85
